Two-thousand years of attention from Italian architects, painters, sculptors and gardeners have undoubtedly made Italy one of the most photogenic nations in the world, with an endless profusion of ruins, monuments, art, piazzas and parks. Photographers Janet Koelling and Kerry Koepping welcomed the challenge and went to work creating photographs with a unique vision, "not the expected postcard images."
The two photographers of Creative Dimensions Photography recently journeyed to Italy, while participating in a professional expedition and tour, Imaging in Italy, under the mentorship of Tony Boccaccio, a National Geographic photographer who resides in Rome. The team collaborated on photo techniques while Boccaccio guided the Creative Dimensions team through the streets of Rome.

"We were deeply affected by the colors and textures. We hope to effect others by the details of everything from the antiquity of the architecture to the ongoing lifestyles that comprise the personality of Italy," said Koepping"

"We desired to find new perspectives in the old images that people have overlooked for generations," said Koelling. "Our photos portray not only the colors, but the textures, light, and life of Italy."
